If you're someone who is looking to improve your health and fitness levels in 2025 but find yourself struggling to see results with traditional gym workouts, EMS whole body training may be the solution you've been looking for.
EMS, or Electrical Muscle Stimulation, is a revolutionary training method that has been gaining popularity fast in recent years for its ability to deliver faster and more efficient results compared to conventional gym training.
So what exactly is EMS whole body training? In simple terms, EMS training involves the use of electrical impulses to contract your muscles, mimicking the natural process of muscle contractions that occur when you exercise. This technology allows you to target specific muscle groups with more precision and intensity than conventional weight training, making it a highly effective method for achieving your fitness goals.
One of the main benefits of EMS whole body training is the time efficiency it offers. With EMS training, you can achieve the same results in a 20-minute session that would typically take you 2-3 hours at the gym. This is because EMS training targets all major muscle groups simultaneously, resulting in a more effective workout in a shorter amount of time.
EMS whole body training makes an ideal option for busy individuals who struggle to find the time to fit regular gym sessions into their schedule or for those who sign up to gym memberships in January, go for a month or two and then drop off, never to set foot in said gym again. Let’s face it most people’s resolution for the new year often includes losing weight and getting fitter.
Why do people not consistently go to the gym?
Well for me personally, it is time. I am a busy working mum and I know this is an issue for a lot of parents out there. I also want to be trained 1:1 and be helped to know when I am doing an exercise correctly and when I am not. We’ve had a lot of clients in the clinic over the years say they want to do weights and get fitter and healthier but are not sure what to do and if what they are doing is doing more harm than good so they have ended up doing nothing.
Being held accountable is big for me too, with the gym you pay your monthly fee but let’s face it it’s no skin off their noses if you go or not as they have your money. It is easy to drop off fitness routines when you are not held accountable such as in gym settings. As EMS training is 1:1 you book your sessions and your trainer is expecting you to show up and because you know you have undivided attention you know the work you are doing is good quality and will make a difference to your health, fitness and well-being (both physical and mental).
Additionally, EMS whole body training can help you achieve faster results compared to traditional gym workouts. The electrical impulses used in EMS training stimulate your muscles at a much higher intensity than what you could achieve with conventional weight training alone. This results in stronger muscle contractions and ultimately faster muscle growth and strength gains. Whether your goal is to build muscle, lose weight, or improve your overall fitness level, EMS training can help you reach your goals more quickly and effectively.
Another key benefit of EMS whole body training is its ability to improve overall muscle strength and endurance. By targeting specific muscle groups with precise electrical impulses, EMS training can activate a larger percentage of muscle fibres than what is typically achieved with traditional weight training. This results in more effective muscle stimulation and ultimately leads to greater muscle strength and endurance gains. Whether you're looking to improve your athletic performance or simply want to feel stronger and more energized in your daily activities, EMS training can help you achieve your goals.
In addition to improving muscle strength and endurance, EMS whole body training can also help you achieve better muscle definition and tone. The electrical impulses used in EMS training can help tighten and tone your muscles, giving you a more sculpted and defined physique. This can be especially beneficial for individuals who are looking to achieve a leaner, more toned look without bulky muscle mass. Whether you're looking to improve your overall body composition or simply want to feel more confident in your appearance, EMS training can help you achieve the results you desire.
The above is another advantage of EMS training. I have seen my body shape change back to my pre-baby body shape from doing regular EMS training. My bingo wings have gone, I have bicep and triceps definition. I also now have a thigh gap which I’ve not had in decades, my quadriceps definition is back and my bottom is lifted! Don’t get me wrong I don’t want muscles like a female body builder but I like to look and feel athletic and this is what EMS training has given me.
I am turning 50 this year and I look and feel as good as I did in my 20s and 30s thanks to EMS training.
One of the lesser-known benefits of EMS whole body training is its ability to improve overall cardiovascular health. While EMS training primarily focuses on muscle stimulation, the cardiovascular system also benefits from the increased intensity of the workout. The higher intensity of the electrical impulses used in EMS training can help improve circulation, increase heart rate, and ultimately improve cardiovascular efficiency. This can lead to better overall cardiovascular health, improved endurance, and reduced risk of heart disease.
When I started EMS training in July 2023 I was sweating and out of breath during the 20 minute sessions. Now 18 months on I no longer sweat during a session and I do not get out of breath and this is because my cardiovascular health has improved. I am definitely fitter and stronger than I was. I can now climb my stairs at home two at a time with ease, I can power walk along the seafront each day without getting out of breath. I’ve even jogged round the athletics track at Garons with no problems, which I would not have dreamed of doing 18 months ago.
