W.D.C. was founded by Wendy Coxford in September 2006. Wendy qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1997 graduating from the University of East London with a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy degree. Since this time Wendy has achieved a Masters degree in Advanced Sports Physiotherapy from University College London.

 

 

Wendy has worked in both public and private sectors since qualifying. Within the NHS Wendy worked as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and as an Extended Scope Practitioner Physiotherpaist working as part of an Orthopaedic Consultant's team.

 

 

In her other role Wendy works within National level Rugby Union working as the Head

Physiotherapist for Southend Rugby Football Club who are one of the top 40 clubs in the country. Here Wendy works with players who have achieved county honours and representatvie honours for their various countries.

 

 

Wendy has lead the medical service at Southend Rugby Football Club since 2000 completing courses in Spinal trauma management and Wound suturing. Wendy has also been responsible for the introduction of concussion screening programmes at the club to ensure the upmost safety for the players.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist - West Kent Community Health

 

 

Roy received his BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy Degree from Kings College London in 2006, graduating with upper secind class honours. Since this time Roy had worked in public and private sectors.

 

 

For the past two years Roy has worked for West Kent Community Health as a Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist treating a wide range of Musculoskeletal, Rheumatological and Orthopaedic conditions and injuries. Within this role Roy is responsible for the management of the Back Rehabilitation Programme enabling him indepth experience treating patients with long term back pain.

                       

 

Roy continues his professional development by attending and delivering regular training sesisons for physiotherapy staff. He has also attended external accredited courses to further his knowledge and skills. Aside from managing his own patient list Roy is actively involved with mentoring more junior staff.

                               

 

Privately Roy has worked for Southend Rugby Football Club since 2006 as a Senior team Physiotherapist providing medical care for both 1st and 2nd team matches and training sessions. Within this role Roy has worked with players at a local level through to International players from overseas. Working in national level Rubgy Union has enabled Roy to develop his skills in assessing and treating acute injuries such as ligament/muscle tears and fractures/dislocations. Being so frontline in this area of physiotherapy requires quick, accurate diagnoses to ensure speedy recovery.

                                  

 

In the summer of 2008 Roy started work for W.D.C Physiotherapy covering both the Southend Brentwood Clinics. Due to clinic expansion as a result of increased patient demand he has now joined the clinic on a permanent basis.
